Hover your mouse over the link in any suspect email. Does the link in the pop-up box look like a genuine website?
An effective way of spotting a phishing attempt is to look at the link that the email is trying to re-direct you to.
Remember, even if a suspicious-looking email appears to come from a legitimate source, get it checked out by your IT department before handling it.
